Presentation
So, finally, a presentation about my story.
I actually made this as a children's book series, so there are more stories to it. But I'll post a quick synopsis:
Raven and Lurid are siblings who had a troublesome life, their parents died when they were still very young and they had to live with their grandmother. When Lurid got in her way she had him placed in an institution for troubled kids. He quickly ran away to go back to his little sister. He decided the two of them were better off staying at a foster home, and they lived happily there for a while. And then the people who run the place wanted Lurid to leave, because he was too old to stay under their care. He wrote a note saying he and Raven returned to their grandmother and that they shouldn't bother looking for them. But instead they moved into the old servant quarters hidden in the basement. They have everything they need at their disposal and it's hidden so no one finds their new home. And then Raven finds a girl in the woods surrounding the foster home and decides to keep her as a pet and calls her Lyca. After some investigation Lurid discovers the foster home is becoming an institution. Their home may be in danger and will Lurid be able to keep the girls safe?
So this is a some sort of background story for the characters. You can see them below along with some sets I've made for the story.

Sneaky sneaky sneak preview
Well, I'm supposed to be posting pics and such about my story but, and I deeply apologize, the weather has been too beautiful to hang behind a laptop...
So instead I'll post pics of me hard at work in a park =)
No, seriously, I've done the work but paranoia requires me to deposit my work first.
Plus, you can find me on shutterstock, fotolia and dreamstime... I'm not going to post those works but if you want to check them out here are the links:

A closer introduction
Sooooo, time for a proper introduction I guess.
I've been messing around in the arts for quite a while now, and so I landed in the Concept Artist course at Syntra Hasselt. It's a great chance to learn how an actual studio would work, they also have an animation, game and special effects department. It's the first year the school has offered this course, so everyone is still learning but I believe it's been pretty successful so far. We get a great variety of lessons from basic animation to sculpting. Ofcourse we also learn a great deal about photoshop and illustrator, but for some reason I still prefer to get my hands dirty.
Below I'll post some pictures from works I've made, some are very old, others fairly recent.

The First
My name is Sarina, I'm here to tell you about my final assignment for school. I'm studying to become a concept artist, sounds kind of funny, I know, but here in Belgium we do have an education for it. I've been told it's quite unique. The school I attend to is Syntra Hasselt and it's an adult education program. The final assignment I'm talking about was to write a story, or recieve an existing one, and to create concept art for that story. I've chosen a selfwritten children's story about wich I'll tell you more later. This blog is meant for anyone out there but especially my teacher to follow the proces and progress of my work. I'll be posting pictures and more about my story soon!
